Freeman Seminar

Gabe will be presenting on issue linkage of gender and climate change in international climate finance. The seminar will cover research published in a recent Lab report, Issue Linkage in the Climate Regime: Gender Policies in Climate Finance.

Adaptation Futures Conference

Member of the Chan Lab (Gabe Chan, Lindsey Forsberg, and Sam Holte) will be hosting a workshop on gender mainstreaming in climate adaptation policy with IUCN and the Adaptation Fund at the Adaptation Futures Conference in Cape Town, South Africa.

APPAM 2017 Washington, DC Student Conference

Haley Bloomquist, Brianna Denk, and Ally Hillstrom presented their research on the architecture of the sustainable development mechanism at this national policy conference. Their abstract can be found here.

Ashfaqul Chowdhury (MS-STEP, '17) and Jill Rook (MS-STEP, '17)  also presented research on international collaborations on research and development at this conference, and their research can be found here.

Ben and Peder win Acara Challenge International Division

Ben Ihde and Peder Garnaas-Halvorson and their teammates from CFANS and the Carlson School won the top prize of $5000 in the international division of the Acara Challenge, a yearly competition among student entrepreneurs who focus on addressing social and environmental challenges. Their company, Kaloli Energy, delivers responsibly-sourced charcoal to customers' homes in Kampala, Uganda to displace tree-based charcoal which destroys ecosystem resources.
